During his time at Brablec High School Cliff Howe earned varsity letters in football, baseball and basketball. He earned many county and league honors is these sports. In his senior year, Howe was honored with the Outstanding Male Athlete Award.

After High School, Howe went on to play baseball for Macomb Community College. On that team he won two conference titles. In 1987 he played two more seasons for Wayne State University. He earned GLIAC All-Conference honors at WSU.

Follow his years playing college baseball, Howe played 17 years of semiprofessional baseball. During this time he won the NABF World Series in 1997, 2007 and 2009. He started his coaching career with the Jet Box Baseball Club and won over 125 games and 12 tournament championships. 2011 started his first year coaching at Macomb Community College. Howe is currently the Head Baseball coach at Macomb Community College and a Texas Ranger Associate Scout. He has currently lead the Monarchs to 3 playoff appearances.
