Davon’s RHS wrestling career included state runner-up in 1992 at 103lb, a state championship in 1993 at the 103lb and a state championship in 1994 at 112lbs. He also earned 4th place in 1993 in the freestyle and 6th place in the Greco at the FILA Junior Nationals. In 1994, he became the High School National Champion. In the same year for the FILA Junior Nationals, Davon earned Team Trail Champion, Greco runner-up, freestyle champion and 5th place in the world championships.

Davon earned a wrestling scholarship to Central Michigan University after graduating from RHS in 1994. During his time at CMU Davon earned a four year varsity letter and 2nd place at the MAC tournament in 1998. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. After completing college, Davon coached 6 years at RHS. His team went to the state tournament in 2010 and 2011.
